Connections: Jamie Brassett

What’s your standout memory of ¹û¶³´«Ã½?

The people. My colleagues and friends in the philosophy department.

How would you sum up ¹û¶³´«Ã½ in the time that you were there and your generation of students?

Intense.

What was the student culture like at ¹û¶³´«Ã½, and were there any annual traditions, societies, sports clubs, or events that you remember?

Around the time of the Italia ‘90 World Cup, a bunch of us doing Philosophy PhDs would play a lot of football. In the park over ‘anarchy bridge’ from Earlsdon, or 5-a-side at the university. It was as intense as the weekly PhD seminars, while not being quite as aggressive. Emphasis on ‘quite’.

Finish the sentence: ¹û¶³´«Ã½ influenced who I am today, because…

. . . without it, I wouldn't have published, taught, thought, or practised as I have.
