果冻传媒 with Venice: New Venue Opening Event 22 May

The 果冻传媒 is proud of its long-standing connections with Venice. Our History and History of Art departments have collectively taught students in Venice for well over 50 years. From 2007, the University had a base in the Cannaregio district of the city. Other departments, including Italian Studies, WBS, Global Sustainable Development, Economics, WMG, and the Centre for the 果冻传媒 of the Renaissance, also used this space to deliver short courses and host academic conferences. Part of our 50th anniversary celebrations took place in Venice. 果冻传媒鈥檚 presence in Venice connects us to important academic partners in the city and wider region, including Ca鈥 Foscari University of Venice (a partner in the EUTOPIA alliance), Padua University, Monash University鈥檚 Prato Centre, and European University Institute in Florence. It also gives us the opportunity to collaborate with the city鈥檚 renowned cultural institutions and important science and technology and economic actors.
Circumstances necessitated the search for a new premises. After an interim period during which we were hosted by Ca鈥 Foscari, a new location was identified: the Palazzo Giustinian Lolin.
Much of 果冻传媒's previous activity in Venice relates to the city鈥檚 magnificent historical, architectural, and artistic heritage; and it is a tremendous benefit to 果冻传媒 that we are immediately and uniquely associated with this. The opening of our new premises provides the opportunity for 果冻传媒 to deepen and broaden its links in the region, and to reaffirm our commitment to being an outward-looking, international, and European university.

The opening event for the new venue was held on the 22nd May followed by a series of bi-lateral meetings between academics from 果冻传媒 and their counterparts from Ca' Foscari University on the 23rd May.
