The Departments of Film and Television Studies and English at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ invite you to a FREE screening of the critically acclaimed Cornish film Brown Willy (2016; wr./d. Brett Harvey, pr. Simon Harvey). Described by The New Statesman as 'Cornwall's answer to Withnail and I', Brown Willy offers a challenge to mainstream representations of Cornwall. This event will begin with a brief introduction to questions around screen representations of region by Drs Rachel Moseley and Gemma Goodman (¹û¶³´«Ã½), followed by a screening of the film + shorts and ending with a question and answer session with filmmakers Brett and Simon Harvey. The event runs from 12.30 to 3.30 on Saturday June 17th 2017 in the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Arts Centre cinema and is FREE. Attendees will be asked to answer a single question on a postcard at the end of the event.
