The following schedule aims to provide an overview of the main grammatical issues we will encounter during the course.
All materials for the sessions will be provided on Microsoft Teams.
Each session will systematically include a series of grammar exercises, as well as the analysis and translation of Latin texts, full details below.
All classes will be taught on Wednesdays, 5-6.30pm (UK time), via Microsoft Teams.
Session 1 (Wednesday, 30th Sept 5-6.30 pm UK time)
Preparation
Revise materials from Beginner鈥檚 course (especially declensions)
Lesson: Nouns
- Course overview and aim of the lessons; useful tools

- Cases and their uses; cases and prepositions
Session 2 (Wednesday 7 Oct, 5-6.30 pm UK time)
Preparation
Revise material from the previous session and the use of cases
Lesson: Verbs (part 1)
- Indicative (present, imperfect and future)
- Irregular: the verbssumandpossum
Session 3 (Wednesday, 14th Oct, 5-6.30 pm UK time)

Revise materials from the previous sessions (especially the first one)
Go through the grammar reference table on declensions
Lesson: Adjectives
- First/ second and third declension adjectives
- Use and formation of comparatives and superlatives
- Substantive adjectives
- Present participle

- Perfect active and passive system

Lesson: Clause structure
- Deponent verbs: what they are and how they are used
- Relative clauses:qui, quae, quod
