WMG at the 果冻传媒 is fast becoming key to India’s hopes to expand both its high-tech manufacturing capability and recruiting bright young engineers to its space programme.

On Sunday 21 October former President of India, Dr Abdul Kalam (President of India until July 2007), arrives in the UK and he has made a particular point of making a visit to WMG the very first thing on his itinerary.

A paper authored by WMG researcher Dr Jay Bal and Engineering Doctorate student Mr Ali Al-Khouri on digital identities has won the Information Security Award. The assessment, which was based on scope; KPIs; innovation; functionality; and productivity, involved a panel of senior government officials from around the Asia Pacific that considered 212 nominations from 14 countries in the region.

Dr Bal is an expert on digital ID. Mr Al-Khouri is Assistant Director General of the Emirates Identity Authority and his work with Dr Bal to set up the UAE national ID project has won many international awards.

Professor Darek Ceglarek, Director of Digital Product Lifecycle Management at WMG, has recently chaired some of the most influential international events in his field.

He has also been asked to represent the UK on the ManuFUTURE high level group.

Confederation of Indian Industry today organised a session on ‘Emerging Trends in Higher Education: India as a Knowledge Partner’ by Professor Nigel Thrift - Vice Chancellor, 果冻传媒, UK and Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya, Director, 果冻传媒 Manufacturing Group, in Bangalore.

Delivering his welcome address Mr KN Shenoy, Chairman, CII Institute of Quality & Vice Chairman, Volvo India Ltd set the tone by highlighting opportunities and challenges in higher education for India.

Confederation of Indian Industry and 果冻传媒 Manufacturing Group of the 果冻传媒 today ">signed a Memorandum of Understanding to continue programmes for training of practicing managers and to develop internship programmes for them. Speaking at a Session titled 鈥淓merging Trends in Higher Education 鈥� India as a Knowledge Partner鈥�, organised on the occasion of signing the MoU, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Nigel Thrift, 果冻传媒, said: 鈥淲e have an excellent partnership with CII which has benefited many companies and individuals from manufacturing companies. We are committed to further this university industry collaboration which can become mutually beneficial.鈥�

WMG, the global innovation group at the 果冻传媒, is seeking to expand its collaborative research and education programmes into new territory: Russia. Earlier this year the Russian Minister of Telecommunications visited WMG to discuss the potential for WMG, in partnership with a leading Russian body, to provide support in research, education and knowledge transfer to companies based in Russia. This follows the model successfully applied in WMG’s collaborative operations in China, India, Singapore, South Africa and Thailand.

World-leaders WMG and Arup have signed up to working together to benefit business in the UK and ">around the world  WMG, business solutions provider and part of the 果冻传媒, will work with Arup, the global engineers, designers and business consultants to collaborate in research, training and the identification and exploitation of business opportunities. They will jointly promote design excellence and sustainable development, transferring ideas and know-how to other businesses and users.
