¹û¶³´«Ã½ Law Society have won 'Best Law Society Overall' and 'Best Law Society for Non-Law Students' at the LawCareers.Net (LCN) Student Law Society Awards 2026.

In recognition of their contribution to excellence, Professor Jane Bryan, Dr Rajnaara Choudhury Akhtar and Dr Charlotte Woodhead have been nominated for a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ 2026 Research Celebration Award.

¹û¶³´«Ã½ Law Society has been nominated in the LawCareers.Net (LCN) Student Law Society Awards 2026 in not one, but four categories.

Omoyemi Akerele (LLM in International Economic Law, 2001-2002) was awarded the £1 million Earthshot Prize in 2025 for her pioneering work with Lagos Fashion Week.

Mara Malagodi’s co-edited book Asian Comparative Constitutional Law Vol. 3 - Constitutional Structures has been nominated for the 2025 Book of the Year Prize by the International Forum on the Future of Constitutionalism.

Dr Serena Natile receives the IAS Interdisciplinary Research Development Award for the project ‘Pluralising Law and Social Reproduction: Concepts, Methods, Practices’. The IRDA scheme offers up to £5000 to support the development of new interdisciplinary research ideas and collaborations at ¹û¶³´«Ã½.

Martin Baker (LLB Law, 1981) Chief Commercial Affairs Officer and Managing Director for the Paralympics at Channel 4, has been awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to Broadcasting.

Congratulations to ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Law School alumnus Olanrewaju Akinsola on his appointment to the esteemed rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). Olanrewaju, who studied on our LLM in International Economic Law from 2002-2003, is a Lead Partner at Priory Terrace Solicitors, and has been chosen by The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) to be appointed to the rank of SAN for making exceptional contributions to the legal profession in Nigeria.

¹û¶³´«Ã½ celebrated recognition across four categories at the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Awards, held on 13 November 2025 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. School Tasking, created by Dr Ali Struthers, was shortlisted in the Widening Participation or Outreach Initiative of the Year and ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Mediation, created by Professor Jane Bryan, was shortlisted in the Outstanding Support for Students category.

We are delighted to announce that finalist LLB student Naveera Abhayawickrama has won the ¹û¶³´«Ã½shire Law Society Law Student of the Year award (sponsored by Essential Mediation Solutions) for 2025. This is a fantastic achievement and recognition of excellence in legal practice, innovation, leadership, and service.
