Elizabete Ludborza, who studied our Law with ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Abroad in English degree from 2015-2019, has set up her own legal tech startup to help social media influencers and models to understand and negotiate legal contracts.

Criminal Justice Centre (CJC) directors, Ana Aliverti and Henrique Carvalho, and member, Anastasia Chamberlen, have been awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Trust’s Research Project Grant for their project ‘The Vulnerable State: Appraising the Ambivalent Economies of State Power'.

Congratulations to Dr Serena Natile who has been awarded ¹û¶³´«Ã½'s Research Development Fund (RDF) Strategic award to support her project on ‘Transnational social security law in the digital age: towards a just socioeconomic reorder’.

The Law School bid a fond farewell to our former Head of School this week, when we celebrated the work and contributions of Professor Andrew Sanders. After three years in post at ¹û¶³´«Ã½, Andrew officially retired at the end of May, but we couldn’t let him go without saying thank you.

Our Law School colleagues Ana Aliverti, Sam Adelman, Celine Tan and Illan Wall have all been promoted from Reader to Professor by our University Professional Promotions Committee.

I am sure you will all join us in congratulating them on this terrific achievement and recognition of their contribution to the School.

¹û¶³´«Ã½ Law School has been in the latest Complete University Guide (CUG), climbing 9 places since last year. This latest result is recognition of the hard work and dedication of all Law School staff to conducting cutting-edge research and delivering high quality education.

Payal Shah, who studied on our Law 3 year LLB degree from 2017-2020, has written our latest ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Law Careers Blog, ‘Legal Job Hunting.’ Payal, who secured the role of Legal Intern at The Walt Disney Company and is now working as a Paralegal at Twitch, writes about her experience of finding work after graduation.

Wajma Zazai, who is currently studying on our Law 3 year LLB degree and will graduate this summer has been awarded the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Scholarship from to support her Bar Vocational Studies.

Under the agreement Serbia would pay approximately $400 per 1,000 cubic meters of Russian natural gas — almost four times less than other European countries pay."

¹û¶³´«Ã½ Law School’s Dr Jane Bryan was featured on BBC Sounds this week (Monday 30^th May) discussing the Say My Name Project and the negative impacts routine mispronunciation and name avoidance can have on an individual’s feeling of belonging and visibility.
