The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ awarded an Honorary Doctorate to renowned comedian Alex Horne for his contributions to widening participation. Alex, of Taskmaster fame, played a key role in the success of the University’s ‘School Tasking’ project.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Henrique Carvalho, Associate Professor in the School of Law, and co-author Dr Anastasia Chamberlen have been awarded the Howard Journal of Crime and Justice Best Article Prize for 2022.

We are delighted to announce that one of our recent graduates has been awarded The University’s Outstanding Student Contribution Award (OSCA) for 2023.

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ recently announced new honorary graduates as part of the summer 2023 graduation ceremonies. At today’s ceremony (Friday 21st July) former Law student Bience Gawanas will be awarded one of these honorary degrees in recognition of her outstanding contributions and achievements.

Dr Serena Natile, Associate Professor at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Law School, has been awarded the for her project ‘Transnational Social Security Law in the Digital Age: Towards a Grassroots Politics of Redistribution’.

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Wows celebrate amazing work, projects, and achievements at the University. The Law School’s Dr Alison Struthers won the award for her work on the School Tasking Project, an exciting outreach project enabling young people to learn about interesting aspects of the law and making it more accessible for them.

Law School student Chiamaka Ithuoma, who is currently in her final year of our LLB 3 year Law degree, has been awarded the WAPCE Undergraduate Award for her work on the Cheylesmore Good Neighbours Project. The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Awards for Public and Community Engagement (WAPCE) seek to recognise the vital contributions ¹û¶³´«Ã½ staff and students make in engaging the public in our learning and discovery and showcasing the role ¹û¶³´«Ã½ plays in making the world a better place.
