The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ awarded an Honorary Doctorate to renowned comedian Alex Horne for his contributions to widening participation. Alex, of Taskmaster fame, played a key role in the success of the University’s ‘School Tasking’ project.

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Wows celebrate amazing work, projects, and achievements at the University. The Law School’s Dr Alison Struthers won the award for her work on the School Tasking Project, an exciting outreach project enabling young people to learn about interesting aspects of the law and making it more accessible for them.

Law School student Chiamaka Ithuoma, who is currently in her final year of our LLB 3 year Law degree, has been awarded the WAPCE Undergraduate Award for her work on the Cheylesmore Good Neighbours Project. The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Awards for Public and Community Engagement (WAPCE) seek to recognise the vital contributions ¹û¶³´«Ã½ staff and students make in engaging the public in our learning and discovery and showcasing the role ¹û¶³´«Ã½ plays in making the world a better place.
