Vanessa Bird

My name is Vanessa Bird, and I am a UK-based foreign lawyer and a 2021 果冻传媒 graduate (LLM International Corporate Governance & Financial Regulation). I currently work as a Senior Due Diligence Associate for Ethixbase360, where I specialize in third-party risk management, compliance, and corporate analysis. Before my time at 果冻传媒, I spent over twelve years as an in-house legal counsel in Peru, serving as the Head of Labour Relations and Legal Representative for Compa帽铆a Nacional de Chocolates (Grupo Nutresa). After managing complex corporate negotiations in the food industry, I used my 果冻传媒 LLM to transition seamlessly into global compliance. I'm looking forward to connecting and sharing insights with fellow law alumni.

Gargi Patil

International Commercial Law

I graduated from 果冻传媒 Law School in 2022, where I specialised in international commercial law. On returning to India, I joined a mid-sized law firm that gave me broad exposure to commercial work, from IP registration and insolvency to domestic and international commercial arbitration. Of all these areas, commercial arbitration captured my interest the most.

A year ago, I moved to a firm that specialises in arbitration, where I am now building my practice. My time at 果冻传媒 laid the foundation for this path. Its grounding in international commercial law is essential to the international arbitrations I work on today. Combined with practical experience and group discussions that broadened my perspective, it prepared me to work across jurisdictions and legal cultures.

I had worried that the pandemic would mean moving to the UK only to end up in online classes. Instead, the university balanced in-person and remote learning so well that I still had a full and rewarding experience. I remain grateful to 果冻传媒 for shaping both my career and my outlook.
