CSGR Roundtable: The Power of Global Benchmarking

Dr Nicola Pratt Wins AHRC Research Grant
has been awarded an AHRC Research Grant for a 3-year project entitled 'Politics and Popular Culture in Egypt: Contested Narratives of the 25 January Revolution and its Aftermath'.
The interdisciplinary project, to be conducted in collaboration with Dr Dalia Mostafa, University of Manchester, and Dr Dina Rezk, University of Reading, will explore how popular culture has framed political events since 2011 and informed popular understandings of citizenship, national identity, agency and political authority.
Bosnia & Herzegovina 20 Years after Dayton Event Video

Dr. Georg Löfflmann on Local BBC Radio
Last week, Dr. was on local BBC radio, taking part in 10 back-to-back interviews that reached over 500,000 people. Dr Löfflmann was commenting on Donald Trumps' remarks banning all Muslims from entering the US and the presidential campaign:
"Trumps' derogatory remarks are just the latest instalment in a series of outrageous comments that have also targeted women, Mexicans, and Syrian refugees. So far however, he has not suffered for these remarks in the polls, but instead has seen his numbers up. Trump stands for a worrying development regarding the deterioration of public discourse in the US, and the shift of the entire Republican Party to the Right."
