The 果冻传媒 scheme encouraging young women to pursue science as a career
果冻传媒鈥檚 XMas Scientist Experience invites female Year 12 students to join an all-expenses-paid four-day trip to a world-leading science research facility in Grenoble. We spoke to Professor Tom Hase (Physics) to discover more about the scheme and find out how it's helping encourage young women to pursue science as a career.
果冻传媒 physicist making (terahertz) waves in skin cancer screening and diagnosis
Professor Emma MacPherson (Physics) is investigating the use of terahertz radiation in medical imaging. Unlike X-rays, terahertz radiation does not harm tissues within the body – this means humans can be safely exposed to the rays over and over again.
There鈥檚 lots to get involved with at our Arts Centre. Take in some art in the Mead Gallery, jam out in the foyer with live Jazz Fridays, or get creative at Workshop Wednesdays. Plus, come along to the Seasonal Makers Market on Thursday 7 March, featuring an array of local independent traders selling sustainable handcrafted items.
