Exceptional Customer Service Award

Team winner: Claycroft and Tocil Campus Cleaning Services

This winning team provides exceptional customer service and genuine care to disabled students living in their residences. They go above and beyond to ensure guests have a pleasant stay, and that all of their needs are met.

Individual winner: Nathan Hubbard (Capital Programmes)

Nathan established excellent relationships with all stakeholders to make the new home for Esports the success it now is. His hard work has enabled the Esports centre to become an internationally award-winning enterprise.

Sustainability Award

Team winner: Jack Martin Residences, Campus Cleaning Services

This winning team launched a project to contribute to the University鈥檚 sustainability goals - they've vastly decreasing energy consumption by changing the way cold storage is provided in the residences - cutting running costs by over 50 percent and saving more than 拢300,000 per year.

Individual winner: Michael Wilson (Transport)

Michael has worked tirelessly on assisting the biodiversity on campus. He's done everything from creating bug hotels to looking after hedgehogs, as well as supporting data collection to understand the species we have on campus.

Community Engagement Award

Team winner: Gardens team

This team has carried out a series of community engagement sessions over the past 12 months, including tree planting afternoons for staff and students. They've also worked with the Chaplaincy and Wellbeing teams to design and build a meditation labyrinth, on top of their work to improve our campus landscape.

Julie does lots to help local communities - from fundraising for dementia charities by walking 30 miles around campus, to volunteering for the Salvation Army and working over Christmas to make sure communities have food for the festive period.

Innovation and Improvement Award

Team winner: Maintenance, Marketing and Residences

Inspired by the Electrical Maintenance team, this group has worked collaboratively to raise awareness and reduce dangerous international electrical adaptors across campus. They're now providing free adaptors to replace dangerous ones.

Individual winner: Jean Van Niekerk (Furniture)

Jean has streamlined processes, moving from clunky Excel records to SharePoint sites that have taken the furniture swap process to a streamlined user-friendly process, increasing swaps from 10 in the previous six months to over 100 in the first month of its launch.

Team winner: Nigel Smith, Zone Managers and Assistant Zone Managers (Maintenance Operations)

This team has been at the forefront of the Evolve mobilisation programme - they've made great progress in improving services across the campus, embedding the values in the vital work that they do.

Emily regularly demonstrates 果冻传媒's values in the work she does, working closely with Procurement to make sure the Maintenance contract management pack is embedded across all of the contracts. She delivers the best service for Estates and the wider University.

Special Recognition: David Hammond (Capital Programmes)

This award was presented in recognition of David's service and dedication to the 果冻传媒, and the buildings he has helped to create over the last eight years.

Anna demonstrated remarkable resilience and skill in managing and overseeing the needs of builders, roofers, and painting teams, while navigating complex challenges during 2023.

Winner: Student Information Centre

This winning team are always available to give advice and problem solve. They draw on their huge knowledge of 果冻传媒 and cross-departmental working: managing thousands of emails, phone calls and face-to-face interactions with our students, staff and visitors.
