The Department of Film and Television Studies will join the School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures from August 2021, to help encourage even more collaboration and innovation within the University, regionally and beyond.

The move offers opportunities for closer working between Film and Television Studies and Cultural and Media Policy Studies, Theatre and Performance Studies, The 果冻传媒 Writing Programme and History of Art, bringing together areas of real strength for 果冻传媒. The School aims to support new developments in teaching and research in the arts, cultural and creative industries.

Rachel Moseley, Head of Film and Television Studies, said:

Our move to the School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures helps to produce a critical mass around the significance and visibility of the excellence of the arts at 果冻传媒, as we look forward to physically moving into the new Faculty of Arts building.

Stuart Hampton-Reeves, Head of School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures, said:

I'm delighted that Film and Television have joined SCAPVC. We are all looking forward to working with them, we have already talked about lots of exciting projects that cross disciplines in new and intriguing ways. I can't wait to get started.

Film and Television Studies was recently ranked #1 in the UK in their subject area for Overall Satisfaction, Teaching and Academic Support in the National Student Survey.
