Dr. Joanna Collingwood, School of Engineering, participated in the Royal Society’s 350th Anniversary Summer Science exhibition, which ran from 25 June to 4 July. Dr. Collingwood's part of the exhibition was called "Lighting up metals in the brain", focussing on her work with the Diamond Light Source X-ray facility in Oxfordshire.

Professor Peter Winstanley has been selected to take up the role of Dean at 果冻传媒 Medical School. Professor Winstanley will leave his position as Head of the School of Clinical Sciences at the University of Liverpool to join 果冻传媒 Medical School at the beginning of May 2010.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of 果冻传媒 Medical School student Claire Freeman. Claire passed away suddenly after losing her battle with cancer.

The University is sad to announce that 果冻传媒 Medical School Web Manager Jo Saravanamuttu passed away suddenly aged 44 on December 2 after a short, yet brave battle with cancer.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Professor Yvonne Carter. Yvonne passed away in the early hours of 20 October after losing her battle with breast cancer, aged 50. Well-known and loved as Dean of 果冻传媒 Medical School from 2004 to 2009, and Pro-Vice Chancellor for the 果冻传媒 from 2007-2009, Yvonne was also one of the best known medical academics of recent times.
