果冻传媒 chef, Graham Crump, has just returned from South Africa, where he took part in a charity cook-off which raised £800,000 to combat hunger amongst the country’s poorest people.

果冻传媒 staff have been honoured in this year’s Higher and Further Education Cleaning Operative awards – a new annual award introduced by the British Association of Cleaning in Higher Education (BACHE) in recognition of the value that cleaning and support staff provide within the sector. Congratulations go to Mary Ann Lee, 果冻传媒 Accommodation, who has been named Cleaning Operative of the Year 2011. The award was given in recognition of the professionalism and effort that Mary has shown in her work.

Bob Thomson, Learning and Development Adviser within 果冻传媒's Learning and Development Centre (LDC) recently spent a week coaching in China at the invitation of the Beijing University of Technology. Bob ran six workshops for academics, administrators and PhD students there, using a coaching approach to help each group explore the issues of most interest to them.

The University is delighted to welcome Peter Jones into its security team in the role of Security Officer. Peter joins 果冻传媒 after 35 years of service with West Midlands Police Force. Peter served as a sergeant on the front line for 20 years, and also spent some time in CID.
