A team of 果冻传媒 students, in collaboration with 果冻传媒 Student Cinema, will be raising funds for the through a film premiere on Wednesday 29th April.

The students decided upon their fundraising mission after being successful in receiving a grant of £500 from , a national enterprise competition run by Ernst & Young in support of The Prince’s Trust, where teams of students from around the country are challenged to design and deliver a fundraising project to raise money for The Trust.

MOAC student Daniel Bearup has been announced as the winner of the first PhD Research Video Competition held jointly with Queensland University of Technology, Australia for his exceptional animation describing antibiotic research.

Bryan Woon, an Industrial Economics final year student at 果冻传媒, has won the first place at a national Japanese speech contest. He gave a speech entitled "Is the Japanese salaryman fast becoming a relic of the past?" and answered questions from a panel of judges all in Japanese.

A Memorial Tree Planting ceremony to remember 果冻传媒 student Tim Alfred, will take place on Wednesday 4 March at 2pm in the Orchard, Gibbet Hill.  Tim, a second year student in the Department of Statistics, sadly passed away on Monday 19 May 2008.

Three undergraduate students from 果冻传媒 Business School recently won a “Be Your Own Boss” entrepreneurship competition, run by 果冻传媒 Entrepreneurs and sponsored by Merrill Lynch and Accenture.

Third year management students Stephen Leguillon, Steve Barns and Velin Djidjev entered their online start-up company e-resistible into the competition, and finished top out of over 50 entries, winning £1,000 and free business mentoring for the next 12 months.
