The conference, meeting and events team at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ were awarded the title of ‘Business Events Venue of the Year’ and will now go through to the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

¹û¶³´«Ã½ announces new £10 million ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Scholars programme for up to 500 Midlands young people each year

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ will announce today (Tuesday 14th May 2019) a transformational new £10 million social mobility programme - ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Scholars - that aims to change the lives of hundreds of Midlands young people who have the potential to study at ¹û¶³´«Ã½, one of the world’s top 100 ranked universities, but who may face social or economic barriers to entering ¹û¶³´«Ã½. The new programme includes admissions offers up to 4 grades below ¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s standard A level offer.

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ has just announced that it will award honorary degrees to six people at its winter degree ceremonies which will run from Wednesday 16 January - Friday 18 January in the Butterworth Hall of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Arts Centre.

£20 million for West Midlands to enable WMG at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ to create a UK Mobility Data Institute

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced that the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) will receive up to £20 million, subject to approval of a satisfactory business case, to enable WMG, at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ to create the UK Mobility Data Institute, a focussed research centre to collect, process and analyse transport data generated by the advent of new mobility technologies such as autonomous vehicles and smart charging of electrified vehicles.
