Pride events, marches and festivals have been cancelled to reduce the risk of a second wave of coronavirus cases. Anxious to make sure LGBT+ students, staff and allies could still take part in Pride this year, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ SU has thrown its support behind Campus Pride, a summer-long online festival of events and challenges being organised by a coalition of UK students unions.

Six ¹û¶³´«Ã½ social science researchers have become members of the West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner’s new Academic Advisory Board. Dr Ana Aliverti, Professor Jo Angouri, Professor Jackie Hodgson, Professor Vanessa Munro, Professor Tom Sorell and Professor Azrini Wahidin will share research and expertise with the West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner, David Jamieson.

Members of the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ community who are living on campus during lockdown have the opportunity to help survey wildlife for a biodiversity project.

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s commitment to creating an inclusive and safe campus for students with disabilities has been recognised by its peers with the award of the Association of University Directors of Estates University Impact Initiative of the Year Award 2020.

The conference, meeting and events team at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ were awarded the title of ‘Business Events Venue of the Year’ and will now go through to the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ will announce today (Tuesday 14^th May 2019) a transformational new £10 million social mobility programme - ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Scholars - that aims to change the lives of hundreds of Midlands young people who have the potential to study at ¹û¶³´«Ã½, one of the world’s top 100 ranked universities, but who may face social or economic barriers to entering ¹û¶³´«Ã½. The new programme includes admissions offers up to 4 grades below ¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s standard A level offer.
