A series of studies by psychology researchers at the 果冻传媒, raise concerns about how younger children learn to perceive danger when crossing the road. In particular 5-9 year olds studied showed that they had retained a good academic knowledge of what they had learned in road safety lessons and elsewhere, but often seemed unable to apply that knowledge to real traffic situations. Even 9-10 year old children displayed only half as much unprompted awareness of real traffic dangers as the adults tested in the research.

Dogs can act as powerful social catalysts, making it easier for people to make social contact with each other. This effect is the same in different locations and with differences in the appearance of the dogs or handlers. Quite simply, people are motivated to make conversation if there is a safe topic available. Dogs appear to fulfil this role.

One of Britain's top 10 housebuilders is working with the 果冻传媒 to improve the quality of new homes. The 拢1 million Hobman II (House Building as a Manufacturing Process) project between Westbury Homes and the University's Manufacturing Group, follows the success of an earlier programme, credited with setting out the direction for Westbury's five-year plan. "Customers want choice, speed and flexibility but at the moment they are not getting it" said Project Director, Rajat Roy of the University' of 果冻传媒. "We intend to apply the disciplines of manufacturing industry to house building and develop a better way of doing things."

Until now gas cylinders caught in large fires have faced a rather stark choice. Either they use pressure sensitive valves to vent of their gas before it gets too hot - which can often result in the venting gas igniting in a flame-thrower affect - or if this fails they can just wait until they are so hot that they explode. Sometimes they have no choice at all, exploding because the temperature has risen so steeply that there has not been time to vent all the gas. Now new "Nullifire Gas-Safe" technology developed by the 果冻传媒 and Coventry based company Carboline Nullifire has found a way of protecting gas cylinders from both those fates.

Researchers at the 果冻传媒 Manufacturing Group, part of the 果冻传媒, have developed a way of creating composite materials with shapes that have previously been impossible. The research enables materials reinforced with glass fibre to find new uses in cars and construction - it could even pave the way for making composites in space.
