Research finds new target in search for why statin drugs sometimes cause problems for some patients

Research by the 果冻传媒, the University Hospital Coventry and 果冻传媒shire NHS Trust (UHCW), and Tangent Reprofiling Limited, has discovered that statin drugs interact with a gap junction protein called GJC3 that releases ATP, a major signaling molecule for inflammation in the body. This discovery provides a significant new target in the search for why statin drugs can sometimes cause harmful effects such as muscle toxicity in some patients.

Mature drivers favour checks on over 70s, new study finds

The majority of older drivers are in favour of tighter rules on checking the health and suitability of over-70s to drive – even if those checks could take them off the road themselves – according to a new report. The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) worked with Dr Carol Hawley at 果冻传媒 Medical School, the 果冻传媒, to survey more than 2,600 drivers and former drivers on their opinions, habits and motoring history.

WMG tests driverless pods with laser scan of Coventry roads as part of Intelligent Transport Initiative

WMG at the 果冻传媒 is to use a laser scan of 30 miles of Coventry roads to test driverless pods as part of a research programme launched this week. WMG will work with RDM Group - the UK’s only designer and manufacturer of driverless Pods - in a project called INnovative Testing of Autonomous Control Techniques (INTACT).
