The Faraday Institution funded 鈥淣extrode鈥� project, involving WMG at the 果冻传媒, will research ways to make electrodes for Li-ion batteries which unlock the electrochemical potential of their ingredients.

New research from the 果冻传媒 has pioneered an economic perspective on controlling livestock diseases. Focusing on Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), bovine TB (bTB) and bluetongue virus (BTV), the researchers draw striking conclusions about the role of movement bans in controlling an outbreak.

For centuries understanding how the order of events is stored in memory has been a mystery. However, researchers from the Department of Computer Science at the 果冻传媒 have worked out how the order of events in memory could be stored and later recalled in the hippocampal memory system in the brain.

Researchers at WMG, 果冻传媒, have found a way not just to recycle used electric vehicle batteries, but repurpose them as small energy storage systems (ESS) for off grid locations in developing countries or isolated communities. The repurposed units, each containing approximately 2kWh of energy capacity, will be able to power a small shop, a farm holding, or multiple residential homes.

Engineers at WMG at the 果冻传媒 have developed and installed a new, robotic measuring system, capable of accurately and repeatedly measuring large objects on the production line, such as car body-shells, in a fraction of the time traditionally taken to measure them on co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

Stoli Catalysts, a spin-out company from the School of Engineering at the 果冻传媒 has been awarded 鈧�1.2m (拢1.1m) from the European Innovation Council (EIC) SME Instrument scheme to design, build and test a small-scale pilot plant to make medicines, vitamins and food supplements at much lower cost and more sustainably using its patented continuous flow catalytic reactor technology.
