Work is underway on an innovative new greenhouse research facility at the 果冻传媒鈥檚 Wellesbourne Campus.

Three technicians from the 果冻传媒 have been nominated for the prestigious Papin Prize out of 20,000 technicians from Universities across the UK.

The intricate interplay of sunlight, molecules, and metal catalyst materials that can break down greenhouse gases such as CO₂ will be explored in the Department of Chemistry at the 果冻传媒, by Dr Reinhard J. Maurer using computer simulations thanks to award of 拢1.46M by the Government鈥檚 UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship programme.

WMG, at the 果冻传媒, has worked with partners, to create a new design of incredibly lightweight Very Light Rail (VLR) vehicle frame which is weaved, or braided, from carbon fibre composites into a series of tubes to create a first prototype demonstrator frame. Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for Business and Industry Andrew Stephenson became one of the very first people to see the new design, outside of the research partnership, on a visit to WMG on 16^th May.

The public science festival, Pint of Science, kicks off next with experts from the Universities of 果冻传媒 and Coventry talking about their research work in a selection of pubs and venues around the Coventry and Leamington Spa.

A new verifiable e-voting system will be trialled in Gateshead this May. Voters get a receipt which they can check to make sure their vote is properly cast, recorded and tallied while preserving the voter privacy – a process known as being 鈥渆nd-to-end verifiable鈥�. Tallying results are instantaneous once the election is finish along with public audit data to allow anyone to verify the tallying integrity. The trial will be voluntary for people going to cast votes via paper ballot.
