New research centre to focus on quantitative and analytical political economy

A new research centre, headed by Professor Francesco Squintani and based within the Department of Economics at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ University, aims to become a centre of excellence for collaborative research in quantitative and analytical political economy. The Quantitative and Analytical Political Economy Research Centre (QAPEC) will consolidate and advance the research work of quantitative and analytical political economists at ¹û¶³´«Ã½.

UK-based consortium established to develop prototype solid-state batteries

A consortium of seven UK-based organisations including WMG, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ has signed a memorandum of understanding to combine ambitions to develop world-leading prototype solid-state battery technology, targeting automotive applications.

RECOVERY-RS trial finds continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) reduces need for invasive ventilation in hospitalised COVID-19 patients

The Respiratory Strategies in COVID-19; CPAP, High-flow, and Standard Care (RECOVERY-RS) trial, co-led by the ¹û¶³´«Ã½, has demonstrated that treating hospitalised COVID-19 patients who have acute respiratory failure with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) reduces the need for invasive mechanical ventilation.
