A new type of sensor, that is much faster than competing technologies used to detect and identify hidden objects, has been developed by scientists at the 果冻传媒.

Engineers and imagers from the 果冻传媒’s 果冻传媒 Manufacturing Group (WMG) and anatomists from 果冻传媒 Medical School at the 果冻传媒 are helping  Art historians from the University of Cambridge have been working together to try to understand how the two mysterious Renaissance bronzes were made and why they look the way they do by making accurate replicas of the originals. The latest technology-neutron imaging, XRF analysis, 360 degree laser scanning, 3D printing, and real-time x-ray videography - has been involved in this Renaissance ‘whodunnit’.

A giant cloud escaping from a warm, Neptune-mass exoplanet is reported in this week’s Nature.

Depicted in an image by Mark Garlick and issued by the 果冻传媒, it has been suggested that low-mass exoplanets orbiting close to their parent stars could have had some fraction of their atmospheres ‘burnt off’ by extreme irradiation from the star, but confident measures of such losses have been lacking until now.

Researchers from the 果冻传媒’s School of Life Sciences (SLS) have been awarded over £1.36m in grants to further their work into food security.

The BBSRC Horticulture and Potato Initiative (HAPI) grants include substantial cash and in-kind contributions from industrial partners and will be used to support work into how to improve pest and disease control and post-harvest quality.

Researchers at the 果冻传媒’s School of Engineering and 果冻传媒 Business School are part of a new project that will draw on the opinions of Midlands people to help design future home heating and hot water systems.
