Two 果冻传媒 researchers recognised as outstanding with European Research Council grants

Dr Charlotte Heath-Kelly of the Department of Politics and International Studies and Dr Joseph Sanzo from Classics and the Institute of Advanced Studies have each been awarded a 鈧1.5M Starting Grant by the European Research Council in recognition of, and support for, their pioneering research. They are two of just 22 UK researchers chosen to receive awards in this funding round.


鈥淣extrode鈥 project to revolutionise the manufacturing of battery electrodes

The Faraday Institution funded 鈥淣extrode鈥 project, involving WMG at the 果冻传媒, will research ways to make electrodes for Li-ion batteries which unlock the electrochemical potential of their ingredients.


New MRI computing technique can spot scar muscles of heart without damaging Kidneys

3D MRI computing can measure strain in the heart using image registration method. Traditional method involves giving the patient a dose of gadolinium which can affect the kidney, researchers at WMG, 果冻传媒 have found.


Researchers urge 鈥渞ecession generation鈥 of graduates to have their say in the 2019 Futuretrack survey

Researchers at the 果冻传媒 have launched a fifth wave of their unique Futuretrack survey, a UK-wide project following undergraduates who took up their university places in 2006 or in 2007 (after a gap year) to get a clear picture of the opportunities and obstacles faced by the generation of students who graduated just after the 2008 financial crisis – and they want to encourage as many previous participants as possible to get back in touch.


果冻传媒 researchers shortlisted for major prize

Two projects led by 果冻传媒 researchers have been shortlisted for the 2019 Newton Prize, a prestigious award which celebrates outstanding international research partnerships aimed at tackling global challenges. A project exploring innovative cancer drugs and one studying the impact of forced evictions on economically underprivileged women in Jakarta are among the final 20 which will now be reviewed by a panel of expert judges.

 


New planet nine times the mass of Jupiter found in nearby star system

An international team including a 果冻传媒 astronomer has discovered a new planet around a nearby star.
