New initiative to measure the gig economy

果冻传媒 University鈥檚 Institute for Employment Research has teamed up with Innovate UK and Deployed – a technology start-up using data science to better define work - to host a workshop at the Royal Society of Arts in London. The workshop brought together experts including academics, statisticians, lawyers, trade union representatives, think tanks and government to address the definition and classification of self-employed workers, both professionals and those working in the gig economy. The workshop also featured an opening address from Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the RSA, who led the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices in 2017.
