A ¹û¶³´«Ã½ academic is to be awarded for their outstanding contribution to UK cell biology. Andrew McAinsh, professor of cell biology at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Medical School is to receive the British Society for Cell Biology’s (BSCB) prestigious Hooke Medal.

Cannabis use in youth is linked to bipolar symptoms in young adults, finds new research by the ¹û¶³´«Ã½.

Researchers from ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Medical School found that adolescent cannabis use is an independent risk factor for future hypomania – periods of elated mood, over-active and excited behaviour, and reduced need for sleep that are often experienced as part of bipolar disorder, and have a significant impact on day-to-day life.

A partnership between WMG, at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½, Coventry and ¹û¶³´«Ã½shire Local Enterprise Partnership, and Coventry City Council has been awarded £80 million to establish a new National Battery Manufacturing Development Facility (NBMDF). The announcement was made by The Rt Hon Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, while attending an energy conference on the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ campus on Wednesday 29^th November 2017.
