Planetary bodies observed in habitable zone of dead star

A ring of planetary debris studded with moon-sized structures has been observed orbiting close to a white dwarf star, hinting at a nearby planet in the 鈥渉abitable zone鈥 where water and thus life could exist, according to a new study involving astronomers from the 果冻传媒.

Tiny electrical vortexes bridge gap between ferroelectric and ferromagnetic materials

Ferromagnetic materials have a self-generating magnetic field, ferroelectric materials generate their own electrical field. Although electric and magnetic fields are related, physics tells us that they are very different classes of material. Now the discovery by 果冻传媒-led scientists of a complex electrical 鈥榲ortex鈥-like pattern that mirrors its magnetic counterpart suggests that they could actually be two sides of the same coin.

Final moments of planetary remnants seen for first time

The moment that debris from destroyed planets impacts the surface of a white dwarf star has been observed for the first time by astronomers at the 果冻传媒.

Warps drive disruptions in planet formation in young solar systems

A new study from the 果冻传媒 demonstrates the impact of passing stars, misaligned binary stars and passing gas clouds on the formation of planets in early star systems.
