This Welcome Week, David Speed is back on campus to bring the winning 60th anniversary mural design to life in his signature neon style, right in the heart of campus on the Piazza! Join us between 30 September - 3 October to watch the mural unfold and see creativity in action.

Our upgraded Climbing Centre now features at least 20% more routes, including a mix of auto-belay and roped climbs. With a wider variety of wall angles, extra space and even more creative route setting, climbers of all abilities will find more ways to test themselves.

The Modern Records Centre have produced a range of snapshots of life in 1965, the year the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ first opened its doors. The exhibition, featuring a range of news, from war to fashion, is now open at the MRC Exhibition Room and will run until 19 September 2025.

From 30 July, we are changing how your devices connect to the internet on campus, to help keep everyone safer online. To access the internet on campus, you will need to check the DNS settings on your laptop and mobile devices. You can find step-by-step instructions here.

The central campus Post Office will be closed from today (Friday 25 July), alongside Rootes Grocery Store, for refurbishment as we launch a new Co-Op store in September. The nearest Post Office in the meantime is at Cannon Park.

Join us on this butterfly-themed event on Thursday 24th July, 10:00-11:00 and 11:00-12:00, to learn more about the Big Butterfly Count, explore what species we have on campus and have a go at contributing to the world's largest butterfly survey. This activity contributes to the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Award.

Earlier this year, three-quarters of our final-year students completed the National Student Survey (NSS). Today, we're sharing the headline results, and we want to say a sincere thank you to the students who took the time to share their feedback.

We continue our ¹û¶³´«Ã½ at Night event series with a moth survey. Join us on Thursday 10th July at 9 am to see what species of moths can be found at this location! Spaces are limited to sign-up is essential. The activity contributes to the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Award.

Our Biodiversity Walks are back! Join us on a relaxing lunchtime stroll on Monday 7th July, enjoy being surrounded by greenery and bird song, and find out more about what bird species can be found on campus. This activity contributes to the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Award.

A huge congratulations to the winners of the WATE (¹û¶³´«Ã½ Awards for Teaching Excellence), WAPTE (¹û¶³´«Ã½ Awards for Personal Tutoring Excellence) and WAPCE (¹û¶³´«Ã½ Awards for Public and Community Engagement) in 2025. The Awards recognise members of our community who have gone above and beyond in teaching excellence, public engagement, and personal tutoring.

Rootes Grocery Store is now closed for a full refurbishment and will reopen as the ¹û¶³´«Ã½'s Co-op on Wednesday 24th September. A pop-up shop will be opening on Monday 28th July, this will be located in the SU building, opposite The Finery Barbers. The shop will sell a reduced range of basic supplies, including sandwiches, bread, milk, drinks, snacks, fruit, tea and coffee. You can read about the new Co-op store here.

The end of the academic year has arrived! We hope you have a wonderful and well-earned break. Remember, support and services are still available over the break, and there is plenty to see in the local area if you are sticking around campus this summer.

If you’ve just got to the end of your course and are starting to worry about paying back your student loan, don’t panic! No payments start until at least next April. Keep reading to refresh your memory on how repayments work…
