The Donation Drive is back, and it’s your chance to give your unwanted clothes, kitchenware, food, electricals, homeware, book sand other usable items a second life. Just look for the big yellow bunkers around campus and drop off your stuff anytime — it’s that easy. Every donation goes toward supporting people in our community and helps reduce waste. Last year, we saved 8.1 tonnes of items from ending up in general waste!

Leaving student accommodation can be stressful, but one of the most important things to remember is making sure you get your deposit back.

The Moves+ programme at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ will unfortunately be closing on Monday 30 June 2025, after which all accounts and access will be removed. You will be able to redeem points within Moves+ up until and including 30 June.

A collaborative initiative between ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Food Group, the Department of Chemistry, the Energy & Sustainability Team, and dedicated student volunteers has brought the Community Fridge back. Anyone can donate or take food, with restocks from 5pm Monday–Friday.

As the big day approaches, it is important to prepare for the costs you might incur so you can enjoy your ceremony without any stress. Let’s dive into the basic graduation expenses you should be aware of.

From Monday 2nd June - Sunday 20th July, the A429 Kenilworth road between the Gibbet Hill road roundabout - Common Lane junction will be closed to vehicular traffic. Access to all properties, footpaths and cyclists will be maintained. This can impact on your journey times, so please leave plenty of time when travelling to campus for your exams.

We recognise that recent developments from the Supreme Court and the Office for Students’ decision about the University of Sussex have caused considerable concern for many members of our community. ¹û¶³´«Ã½ remains committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful and supportive community for everyone – read an update and FAQs.

At university, it’s easy to focus on lectures, deadlines, and social life while financial planning slips down the priority list. But getting into the habit of saving, even just a little, can open up real opportunities down the line.

Access restrictions to University House will be lifted from Friday 23 May. WMG access remains a single point of entry until Tuesday 27 May.

Travelling as a student is an exciting adventure and it doesn’t have to be out of budget. With the right planning and insights, you too can embark on international adventures while being financially responsible.

Explore new food and drink options on campus by ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Food Group, with the new Coffee Lab in the Social Sciences building. You can also find the relocated Red Rocket food van at the Computer Science building, with a new Eatwise menu including grilled cheese, homemade bakes, and coffee from Bridge Coffee Roasters.

We are aware of a demonstration currently taking place outside Senate House. The demonstration is by ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Stands with Palestine. On Wednesday 14 May and Thursday 15 May access to University House and WMG buildings will move to a single point of access. This is in response to a planned rally. You will need to be prepared to show your university ID to Community Safety staff and keep it visible while in the buildings. University House will close to students for general access from Thursday 15 May and remain closed to students until Friday morning.
