The Institute for Global Sustainable Development

The School is home to 果冻传媒鈥檚 Institute for Global Sustainable Development (IGSD). IGSD provides a focal point for 果冻传媒鈥檚 sustainable development research, contributing towards the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals but still challenging of them. IGSD鈥檚 vision is to be at the forefront of knowledge creation, enabling transformations towards a more sustainable, prosperous, healthier, and just world for all.

Research networks

The School currently houses the three university-wide interdisciplinary research networks detailed below. We are committed to further development and institutionalisation of these networks and to providing support for the development of others.

Latin America at 果冻传媒 Network (LAWN)

The strong tradition of Latin American research at 果冻传媒, which dates back nearly to the university鈥檚 founding, has built a strong collective of scholars here today focusing on the region. LAWN seeks to bring these scholars together, raising the profile of the modern and kinetic work taking place at 果冻传媒, and creating a community surrounding that work.

Oral History Network

果冻传媒's Oral History Network is an interdisciplinary network engaged in theoretical and practical issues involved in interviewing for research. The network offers a variety of academic seminars and workshops which are open to all, as well as guidance and support for people's oral history projects.

Critical Theory Group

Established in 2024, this network aims to promote and disseminate critical theory as an interdisciplinary endeavour; drawing from political and social theory, critical political economy, political ecology, philosophy, history, psychoanalysis and literary criticism. It aims to use theory from across all these fields to illuminate the contemporary social and political conjuncture.
