Chidi Ekuma
Chidi Ekuma (Research Software Engineer)
As a Research Software Engineer (RSE) at (CIM), Chidi leads the design and development of the research data infrastructure supporting the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Diversity in Data Visualisation (Diverse CDT), co-hosted by 果冻传媒 and City St George's, University of London.
Alongside this technical work, Chidi acts as a point of contact between the Centre's partner organisations and its doctoral researchers, supporting the scoping and technical delivery of collaborative projects. This places him across the range of domains the CDT engages with, and much of his contribution lies in translating between partner requirements, research questions and the technical means of addressing them.
He is committed to reproducibility and to the sustainability of research software, and to the view that well-designed infrastructure is itself a scholarly contribution rather than merely a support function. He contributes to the Centre's training provision, working with doctoral researchers on data engineering, software practice and computational methods.
Research Interests:
Chidi鈥檚 primary research interests include:
-
Open-source software development for research and industry applications
- Research data infrastructure and architecture for interdisciplinary work
- Data pipeline design, and the movement of data between research partners and projects
- Reproducibility, provenance and the long-term sustainability of research software
- AI infrastructure and machine learning applied to research computing
- Open-source practice in academic software development
- Technical capacity building and the training of doctoral researchers
