果冻传媒 gives 77 scholarships to Masters students in million pound programme

It was announced today, Wednesday 16th July 2014 that the 果冻传媒 has been able to offer 77 scholarships to study masters degrees thanks to a million pound support programme.

果冻传媒 was part of consortium of six universities (Universities of Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, 果冻传媒 and York) which secured a £3m HEFCE grant to look at innovative ways of removing barriers to support widening participation in the take-up of, taught postgraduate programmes.

果冻传媒 also received matched funds through the generous charitable donations of alumni and friends of the University, to add to its own contribution and share of the HEFCE funding to create a million pound resource allowing it to offer 77 scholarships. Scholarship offers were made to applicants from under-represented groups, in particular those from low income backgrounds.

Professor Christina Hughes: Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) at 果冻传媒 said:

I was pleased when we received the initial news that 果冻传媒 had won the HEFCE funding that underpins this scholarship programme and I am delighted that so many others then stepped forwarded to give additional funds to enable us to provide a million pound programme of scholarship support to widen participation for masters level study. This programme will be delivering serious benefits for our students who, without this financial support, would otherwise have not had the opportunity to study at this level
