We offer a range of ways to get careers support, including:

Many students find that they can quickly find the information and feedback that they need through these services.

If you need personalised support, a one-to-one appointment with a member of the Careers Team can make a real difference, helping you to explore your options, develop your plans, and take your next steps with confidence.

To help you get the most from your appointment, we may ask you to access relevant resources or complete preparatory activities beforehand. For application advice appointments, please complete a CareerSet review before booking.

We offer bookable:

Please have your documents ready for us, either printed or on a laptop. We are unable to review documents on mobile devices.

Get the most from your appointment

  • Give the team information in the booking notes on what you would like to cover.
  • Upload any documents you would like reviewed, plus a link to relevant job descriptions, to myAdvantage when you book.

  • Think about what you want to get out of your appointment and jot down a few notes.
  • For Teams appointments find a quiet spot so you can focus.
  • Make notes during the appointment 鈥 easy to forget information otherwise!

One to One Appointments

Application advice

Get tailored feedback and practical tips about CVs, cover letters, personal statements, job searches, interviews and finding work experience. You can also book a mock interview to help you prepare for the real thing.

Choose an in-person or online appointment.

Online: MS Teams

Students: Sign in to your 果冻传媒 Microsoft Teams account and your adviser will call you directly.

Graduates: Please provide your personal email address when booking so your adviser can send you the link to join the Teams call.

In Person

Face-to-face appointments take place in the Student Opportunity Hub (Senate House) unless stated otherwise.

Please arrive 10 minutes early and check in at reception before your session begins.

Please note that these appointments do not cover career guidance (for example if you aren鈥檛 sure what you want to do and are feeling a bit lost 鈥 please see 鈥Careers Guidance鈥 instead).

Careers guidance is all about tailored one-to-one support - helping you understand your strengths, explore career paths, and make confident decisions about your future.

Who is most likely to benefit?

You are most likely to benefit from a careers guidance meeting if you are:

  • Unclear about what you want to do
  • Anxious about career planning, and may benefit from reassurance and support
  • Making many applications but failing to progress
  • Panicking if friends are securing offers but you aren鈥檛
  • Having lots of ideas but not sure where to start
  • Thinking of leaving 果冻传媒 or changing your course
  • Moving from a 4 to a 3 year course
  • Thinking about how your disability might impact on your career options and are unsure of how to disclose this
  • needing a mock interview to help you prepare with the technical/subject specific parts of an upcoming interview

When deciding who to see, you have the option to book an appointment with your department's dedicated Careers Consultant.

Drop in activities

Careers corner

A member of the team will be available in Careers Corner in the Student Opportunity Hub (SH0.07) at the following times during Autumn term:
  • Tuesdays 1-4pm
  • Wednesdays 1-4pm
No need to book. Just drop in with your query.

Careers corner pop-up

The team will be available to answer your quick careers related questions at the careers fairs in Autumn term.
No need to book. First come, first served.
