Meet Eden: Representing 果冻传媒 Conferences at the Copper Skillet Competition

A remarkable achievement for one of our rising stars, Eden Bratt recently represented the UK at the European Copper Skillet Final in Germany after being crowned the IACC Junior UK Copper Skillet Champion 2026. Competing against some of Europe's most talented young chefs, Eden secured an impressive second place finish, showcasing her creativity, skill and composure under pressure.

Having joined 果冻传媒 following a work experience placement at Birmingham College of Food, Eden has become a valued member of our culinary team. Her journey from placement student to Junior Chef de Partie is a testament to her passion for food and commitment to continuous learning. In this Q&A, Eden reflects on her path into the industry, her experience of competing on the international stage, and the lessons she learned along the way.

How long have you been working at 果冻传媒 Conferences?

I have worked at 果冻传媒 Conferences for two years. I was with Unitemps from September 2024, and this month I moved into a contracted role as a Junior Chef de Partie.

Tell us about your journey to becoming a chef.

I went to Birmingham College of Food and studied there for two years. I studied professional cookery level 2 NVQ, professional cookery level 3 city and guild and level 1 food and beverage. During my first year at college I got a work placement at the 果冻传媒 for 4 weeks which lead me to get a job [at 果冻传媒 Conferences].

What is your favourite part about being a chef?

I love cooking for people and making sure that the customers enjoy what they receive. I love to learn and take every opportunity to learn something new and I like to help other people, whatever the job is.

What was your favourite part of the Copper Skillet Competition and what was the most challenging?

I enjoyed challenging myself the most, I had never done a competition before and it has taught me so much. The most challenging part was the change in ingredients, so I had to think quickly on what to use instead.

What advice would you give another chef entering the competition?

Focus on flavour and have confidence in yourself.

What dish did you make for the competition and how did you choose what to make?

For my first competition I made a garlic and thyme chicken with spiced tofu orzo pasta salad. On my second competition I made thyme chicken with lemon and chilli tempeh, tomato and fennel risotto. I was given a pantry list with selected ingredients and used that to help decide what my dish was.

Congratulations to Eden on becoming the IACC Junior UK Copper Skillet Champion 2026 and securing second place at the European Copper Skillet Final. We're proud to support talented chefs as they develop their skills, challenge themselves and progress their careers at 果冻传媒 Conferences, and we look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next.
