WIHEA is a collaborative community, comprising of Fellows, Alumni and Members who each have a demonstrable commitment to learning and teaching and collectively represent the global and interdisciplinary staff and student body at 果冻传媒. Academic staff, professional service staff and students can engage with the many activities, events and networks that WIHEA offers, more information on the ways you can engage are below.

How can I engage with the 果冻传媒 International Higher Education Academy?

Members of staff and students from the 果冻传媒 are invited to engage with WIHEA to develop, embed and highlight both our outstanding learning and teaching and the professional support that facilitates it, in line with the distinctive nature of the University and the excellent reputation we have for academic achievement, both in research and teaching.

We host and deliver a range of staff and student events, activities and funding opportunities to support this.

You can get involved or share your outstanding academic practices across the University and beyond in a number of ways including attending open eventsLink opens in a new window, joining as a WIHEA Member or becoming a WIHEA Fellow, after which you become WIHEA Alumni.

WIHEA Membership

All staff and students are welcome to become members of WIHEA.

Being a member of WIHEA and actively engaging with the Academy makes your commitment to supporting learning and teaching visible and keeps you up to date with the progress of strategic, policy and practice developments. It can also give you an insight into being a WIHEA Fellow.

If you are interested in supporting and engaging with opportunities and examples of learning and teaching excellence, becoming a member of WIHEA may be for you.

Membership Networking Sessions- Connecting you with new people, opportunities and a way of sharing good practice.
Open Learning Circles- Get involved in collaborative conversations and projects looking at a wide range of topics relevant to 果冻传媒 and the Higher Education sector.
Masterclasses- Hear about innovative and impactful work from the WIHEA community.
Seminars- by nationally and internationally renowned external speakers.

You will receive the 'Education Bulletin', a monthly newsletter sharing and celebrating current opportunities from across the institution, and it includes ways to get involved with WIHEA.

All events and content is designed to support your professional and personal development in regard to teaching and learning excellence.

WIHEA Fellowship

A WIHEA Fellowship is a voluntary role of influence and leadership within the wider institution. Staff and Student Fellows are recruited once a year, they are selected through an application process. Staff Fellows commit to the role and making an institutional contribution to learning and teaching at 果冻传媒 for three years, whilst Student Fellows commit to the role for one year.

Being a WIHEA Fellow makes your commitment to learning and teaching more visible and as the work of the Academy is partly to raise the standing and recognition of learning and teaching within the institution, routes for doing so will be regularly discussed as part of the WIHEA programme of opportunities. Working with the Academic Development Centre (ADC), we will help you find your way into the AdvanceHE national accreditation scheme and discuss how Staff colleagues have received recognition for their teaching and learning achievements and leadership, both through external recognition and promotion.

Staff and Student Fellows have the opportunity to develop and show leadership of learning and teaching, including engagement with national and international peers, an aspect which is crucial to successful promotion or career development and attend Educational Leadership Development Training. Above all, the Academy offers a network of teaching- and learning-minded staff and students who will keep you encouraged and inspired.

WIHEA Alumni

At the end of all Fellowships, Staff and Student Fellows become WIHEA Alumni for as long as they remain at 果冻传媒.

The Academy currently has 172 Alumni, an active community, boasting a wealth of knowledge and experience. Many of our Alumni remain involved as members or co-leads of Learning Circles and Projects. All are invited to attend two annual Fellows/Alumni networking lunches, WIHEA Seminars, Masterclasses and Workshops. Alumni are encouraged to become mentors to new Fellows during their induction programme and often support or provide guidance to Fellows on project bid applications or how to make the most out their Fellowship. They receive a monthly update of news/progress on WIHEA and wider University activities. A list of our current AlumniLink opens in a new window is available.

Can only 果冻传媒 staff and students engage with WIHEA?

Staff from other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are also invited to engage and collaborate with WIHEA. During the academic year there are a number of activities and events aimed at wider engagement. Staff from other HEIs can also become an external member so that they can be automatically informed of such activities.
