Forgot your laptop? Need a device for a study session on campus?
We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new 32 bay Laptop Loan Locker service, delivered in partnership with IDG. Located within the Library, the lockers provide a convenient, self-service way for students to borrow a fully supported laptop whenever they need one. The service has been designed to offer quick and easy access to technology, helping to support study, teaching and learning both on campus and in the Library. With laptops available on demand, students can simply collect a device using their University ID card and return it when no longer required, providing greater flexibility and accessibility for the University community.
Laptop loans are available to current 果冻传媒 students.
Unfortunately, the service is not available to visitors, external members or alumni.
How to borrow a laptop
Borrowing a laptop is quick and simple:
- Visit the Laptop Loan Locker.
- Swipe your University ID card at the locker unit.
- The locker containing your laptop will open automatically.
- Remove the laptop and charging cable.
- Close the locker door before leaving.
How to return a laptop
When you're finished with the laptop:
- Log out of the device.
- Swipe your University ID card at the locker unit.
- Return the laptop to the correct locker.
- Reconnect the charging cable securely.
- Ensure the locker door is fully closed.
Important: The laptop remains on your library account and is your responsibility until it has been returned correctly and connected to power.
Conditions of use
To help ensure the service remains available for everyone, please note the following conditions:

You are responsible for the laptop throughout the loan period and must take reasonable care of it.

Do not leave the laptop unattended or allow another person to use it under your loan.

Personal software or applications must not be installed on the device.

You must comply with the University's IT policies and procedures when using the laptop.

Any faults or issues should be reported to Library staff as soon as possible.

Laptops must be returned on time and in good condition.

If a laptop is lost or stolen, you must report the incident to the police, contact IDG Security on 024 7657 3737, and complete the as soon as possible.
