'Parish Records' Workshop
Saturday 12 October 2024, 1.30-3 pm
果冻传媒shire County Record Office,
Priory Park, Cape Rd, 果冻传媒 CV34 4JS
This interactive workshop introduces the numerous types of parish records held in the 果冻传媒shire County Record Office. Focusing on the centuries between Reformation and Enlightenment, when these originally ecclesiastical communities assumed local government duties (particularly relating to poor relief), participants will be given an initial overview by Beat K眉min (果冻传媒, My-Parish Network), followed by the opportunity to see specific books and accounts under the guidance of Sharon Forman (果冻传媒shire County Record Office).
There will also be ample time to ask questions on subjects ranging from communal organisation via religious practices to record conservation.
The event forms part of the '' series for the '果冻传媒 Words' festival.
